The popstar thinks it's hilarious that future girlfriend Cheryl remained seated during his audition. The One Direction star was just a teenager when he first met Cheryl: Liam, of course, didn't end up going through as a solo artist; he went on to be part of the X Factor formed band One Direction, which are now one of the biggest boybands of all time.

However, Chez, now 33, did lavish him with praise afterwards, saying: I thought your voice was really, really powerful. Liam and Cheryl began dating following her split from husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini. Liam's currently in the US doing a massive promo tour in support of his debut single Strip That Down, while Cheryl is at home in the UK with their son.

While Liam has spoken openly about the two loves of his life in various radio interviews over the past week, Cheryl gave her first insight into life as a mother via a Twitter session on Wednesday. She broke her Twitter silence for the first time since giving birth to baby Bear, and in doing so, she's offered fans an interesting insight into her relationship with Liam.

Cheryl wasted no time in doing just that, tweeting: She added the universal symbol for saying something slightly rude: Fans obviously loved her first tweet as a mother, with one immediately asking her: But Cheryl wasn't done there - she stuck around for the first chat with her fans since becoming a mum.

Describing little Bear as "amazing", she said she was doing "great" and said she'd "missed" her followers since leaving the social media site in the late stages of her pregnancy. It came after Liam gave his most revealing interview yet about life with Cheryl and their brand new baby son, Bear Grey Payne — although he admitted he's not as hands-on as he'd like to be.

Liam told Alex and Andrea on KISS FM that Cheryl does all the night feeds because she wants to know how hard it is when he goes on tour. I thought that I'd get the call saying, 'we need a nanny for this', but no, she's doing everything.

She's really pushing herself with it, bless her. The new dad, who welcomed little Bear on March 22said the couple even came up with a rota for the night feeds — but then abandoned it because Cheryl wanted at least one of them to get some sleep. But there is one area where Liam has been able to prove his dad credentials: But while new parenthood can be fraught with fears and sleepless nights, Liam did touch on one funny moment when Cheryl was gearing up to give birth.

Liam also revealed Bear will make his musical debut on one of his songs after the proud parents recorded his heartbeat while he was still in the womb. We haven't really fit it with any song yet but, I mean, there's a chance of it," he added. It came after Liam gave away Bear's secret middle name — Grey — during a chat with fans in Boston. He and Cheryl came up with the name after discussing calling their son Arthur, but Liam let Cheryl have the final say "because she was the one doing all the work".
