We did enjoy our walk in the flower market, but it was a bit more touristy than we had hoped. It is beautiful and worth the trip. This is the place to get those silly souvenirs to take home too. Nice neighborhood, good eats.

We really liked our stop at the flower market. There was a lot to see and numerous bulbs to buy, if you are a local. Seems there are restrictions on which bulbs you can buy and how many of them you can buy. The floating flower market is a little misleading because it is not on boats in the canal but rather stalls floating on the canal. Regardless of the less romantic sight, the market still contained beautiful tulips and other flowers.

There were also places along the My wife wanted to buy some bulbs after visiting Keukenhof, so we enquired at the hotel where we can buy these and were directed to the Bloemenmarkt. It is not really a floating market as shops are on the street level and not on boats, We walked around a couple of times as it was raining the first time.

I was there in and the same happened to me - all the bulbs I bought was just the cheapest standard red tulip - and not the special ones pictured outside the tulip bags!! Nothing has apparently changed in !
